Competitive Program

Competitive (Club) Soccer:

Competitive Soccer is designed for those players who want to step up their game and test their skills by playing in a more challenging environment.  Tarpon FC provides a quality competitive program. This program is for the serious player, seeking a higher level of play and training. Our philosophy is to develop the player's individual and team skills, in a positive and constructive atmosphere. We feel that this encourages a love of the game, translating into a solid work ethic, that maximizes player development and performance.

Teams are selected through an annual tryout process. Tryouts are held in late May and early June. Professional training and instruction are provided to all our competitive teams

** TRAINING ** TRAINING ** TRAINING ** TRAINING ** TRAINING **

When it comes to Competitive and Academy soccer programs - you can never use the word training enough.  At Tarpon FC we pride ourselves on our developmental training program.  Our Training staff is lead by Coach Antoni Naco - whose resume and experience speak for themselves.

Tryouts for Competitive Soccer are done at the end of May; a roster must be submitted to FYSA by July 1st, although teams may add additional players after that date.

Regular Season Games run from October thru Mid-February for U9 - U14 and Mid-August thru late October for U15 - U19. Practice usually starts in July for Senior Teams (U15-U19) and August for Junior Teams (U9-U14).

Competitive teams have the option to participate in Tournaments thru-out the  Tampa Bay area, Florida or some may even travel out of state.

There are usually three Divisions per age group, teams usually start at Division III and as they progress, they may work their way up to Division I.

Division I Teams usually practice three days per week, and may participate in a Regional (Region C Cup) or State level ( State Cup) tournament at the end of the season.   They may also participate in multiple local,  in-state, or even out-of-state tournaments based on the level that they have achieved and as a decision made by the Coach and the Team Members.

Division II Teams usually practice two times per week, once with their Coach and once with the Trainer.  They may participate in the Region C Cup at the end of the season.  D2 teams usually participate in a couple of local tournaments during the year and may participate in an out-of-town tournament at the end of the year at the discretion of the Coach and Team Members.

Division III Teams are usually those teams that have recently moved into the competitive program.  They practice two times per week, and may participate in a couple of local tournaments.

All Teams are trained by qualified, licensed Coaches and Trainers.
