Recreational FAQ'S

RECREATIONAL REGISTRATION FAQ'S

 What are the fees this year?

         The participation fees are as follows:

         Fall Recreational program $ TBD

         Spring Soccer Program $ TBD 

What is included in the Registration Fees?

         The Tarpon FC Registration Fees are as follows:

  •           FYSA Fees
  •           GYSA League Fee
  •           City of Tarpon Springs Lighting Fees 
  •           Referee Fees
  •           Uniform Fee

 Why is a City of Tarpon Springs Activity Card required?

         As with most municipalities, there is a fee that is required to use their facilities. The City of Tarpon Springs owns the fields in which Tarpon FC practices and plays. More information on this can be found on the Registration page of the Tarpon FC website.

 I completed my registration online and need to submit my child’s birth certificate.  Where do I send this?

         Please mail it to Tarpon FC, P.O. Box 848, Tarpon Springs, 34688.

 When will practices begin?

         Practices will start the beginning of October.  

 Can I pick my coach?

         The only way to insure you get the coach you want is to sponsor the team.  The cost to do a Recreational Sponsorship is $250.00.  With a Recreational Sponsorship you will get a Team Plaque and your Company Name on the Game Uniform and our website.  

 Can I pick my practice day?

         No, the practice day and time is not guaranteed.  The practice schedule is not set until the coaches meeting which will be held shortly after  registration closes on August 31st.  The coaches determine the best night for practice based on their availability as well as field availability.  

 Where will we be practicing?

         Due to limited field space at the beginning of our Recreational Season we will utilize Riverside Fields.  Upon the completion of Football Season some teams move to the Complex.  This is determined by age group and field availability.

 Can I be on a team with my friend?

         The only way to insure children are on the team together is to coach or sponsor.  There are three secure spots on a team: Coach, Assistant   Coach and Sponsor.  The teams are formed by “blind draft” which limits the ability to place children on specific teams.  The “blind draft” is based  on years of experience for each player.

 What equipment/apparel will my child need?

         Your athlete will need cleats, shin guards and a ball.  A uniform (Game Jersey, Shorts & Socks) and practice shirt will be provided for them to wear.

 Ball Size:

         U8 and under Size 3

         U10 & U12 Size 4

         U14 and up Size 5

 Do I need to volunteer?

         This is optional.  There is a $30.00 volunteer fee in your registration fees.  If you perform five hours of volunteer service during the season than  you can apply to get this volunteer fee refunded.  There is a form that can be found at www.tarponfc.com that needs to be completed, signed by  a board member and submitted to the treasurer by the last game of the season.  This can be mailed to Tarpon FC, P.O. Box 848, Tarpon Springs, 34688.

 What age group will my child be placed in?

         Our young athletes are placed in certain age groups based on their date of birth, as indicated by the D.O.B Guidelines listed below:

  *A player must have attained his/her fourth (4th) birthday prior to Aug 1st.,  or attain his/her 4th birthday prior to any participation in a sanctioned program or eligible to register.
